  • English National Ballet – Ballet Active – Case Study

    Client

    English National Ballet (ENB) is a classical ballet company based in London. It’s one of the five major ballet companies in Great Britain. Their video on demand platform, ENB at Home, offers world-class ballet documentaries, performances and training. The success of this platform throughout lockdown created a demand for a library of training and classes, and from this, BalletActive was launched. BalletActive delivers a library of training and classes from the professionals at English National Ballet for everybody to enjoy at home.

    Objectives

    The brief was to create a promotional video for BalletActive showcasing people of all abilities and ages, using the platform to learn ballet in the comfort of their own home. Since the library of classes include yoga, pilates, different levels of ballet, contemporary dance and flamenco, it was important that we captured elements of yoga and contemporary dance too. To support the product, which was mainly used as a trailer for BalletActive, we edited variations of the final product suitable for all social channels and we captured photography that reflected the feel of the video; exciting, engaging and bold.

    Services

    After meeting the team at ENB, the 1FitLife pre production team started the talent recruitment process, sourcing models suitable for the content according to the client’s requests and a location for the shoot. Our creative team then set about creating a storyboard and designing the creative styling and treatment to bring the chosen location and product to life and create a feeling that the models were using the latform from home.

    Results

    The video has been launched on social media including Facebook and already received 6.4k views, with 3.4k views on YouTube.

    Boxbell – Case Study

    Client

    Fluvial Innovations has a new product on the market called BoxBell which is a robust training weight that is not only adjustable in weight (8kg to 20kg) – 2kg increments – but can be seamlessly used as a dumbbell, hybrid kettlebell and parallette bar. Very much designed for the home exerciser who regularly exercises but does not have the time to train at the gym each session due to family and work commitments.

    Objectives

    The brief was to create a promotional video, photography of the product and marketing assets to support the product going to market through social media and website channels. This video will aim to be around 30 secs to 45 sec long with the aim of showcasing the products functionality and positioning the brand to attract the home market, gym users.

    Services

    1FitLife first set about creating a storyboarded, then designing the creative styling and treatment to bring the product to life. We also sourced a number of models who were short listed for the client, designed the studio to create a feeling that the model is working out at home.

    Results

    The product has been relaunched in January 2022 out to the market through social media channels. The early sales are very promising so far..

    Slimming World – Case Study

    Client

    Slimming World was founded by Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE in Derbyshire in 1969 and has become the UK and Ireland’s leading weight loss organisation with more people choosing to attend a Slimming World group each week than any other weight loss programme. We support hundreds of thousands of people, both in our groups and online, to lose weight and to adopt new habits to stay slim for life.

    Objectives

    1FitLife was commissioned to create 52 bespoke Body Magic fitness videos to support its group and online members to make being active part of their daily routine.

    The move comes after Slimming Worlds’ research showed there was demand for more online resources for members at every stage of being active. The Body Magic content has been

    1FitLife worked with Slimming World to design, produce and market online videos to enhance its Body Magic programme. Each video was created with a fitness philosophy designed with the low level baseline fitness and physical literacy users at mind.  The videos were filmed in the 1FitLife Studio set in a welcoming, homely style. The science based workouts were designed in realistic and attainable segments of 5, 10 and 15 minutes, so Slimming World’s members can create a routine before building on it, to ensure it becomes a sustainable lifestyle habit. To achieve this, 1FitLife started with delivering a number of strategic workshops, gathering input and knowledge of Slimming Worlds 53 year history, culture and values to develop a strategic creative direction ready for production. This also involved sourcing, recruiting and training professional fitness presenters as well as designing graphics that provide motivational and affirmation.

    Results

    The workouts have been extremely well received by members and Consultants alike. The app has seen a huge uplift in visits and views of the workouts are outstanding. The workouts have helped position Slimming World as not just a leader in weight loss management but also an expert in fitness prescription for the low level fitness baseline target market. This project has now been picked up by the national media and trade press.

    Mentor360 – Case Study

    Client

    Mentor360 is an app that recognises the intrinsic connection between mental and physical health, it is able to advise on how to deal with various mental health issues, as well as insight into performance psychology. Mentor360 also provides guidance on nutrition, exercise and meditation, to further aid the users mental health.

    Objectives

    Bertie is a local Dorset businessman who has spent 25 years serving in the military. Growing up, he witnessed domestic abuse and his father took his own life when he was just 15, the effects of which still haunt him today. He’s experienced some of the most challenging circumstances possible, along with his friends in the military who’ve suffered from PTSD and, in some cases, taken their own lives.

    The result is Mentor360, an innovative platform designed to guide people towards a healthy, balanced lifestyle. 

    Mentor360 approached 1FitLife with the proposition of developing all the required content for an app that could act as a ‘pocket life coach’. This content needed to suit the needs of different individuals and their different daily struggles, whilst recognising the intrinsic connection between mental and physical health. It needed to be educational and lead users to a better understanding of themselves. 

    Services

    The team at 1FitLife designed and produced all the content for the app, including videos, images and audio. Most of this is delivered through their team of ‘mentors’ in order to make the app personal and ensure users are receiving unfiltered expert advice. We recorded sound and video on different sets to give the app a rounded feel. Whether a users’ goals are based around mental health, sleep or performance psychology, we made sure there is something for everyone. The diverse range of content will offer supportive solutions, no matter what fitness battles the user may be facing.

    Results

    The Mentor360 app has been launched and provides a unique platform where users can tailor the content to suit their individual needs and ‘find their formula’. Its app achieved over 3000 users in the first part of the launch. They are now partnering with the NHS and other large corporate organisations to support patients and employees with expert guidance on mental fitness.

    Isabella – Case Study

    Client

    Isabella was the first British girl to be trained at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in Saint Petersburg, starting at the age of just 15. After an impressive career in Russian ballet, she returned to the UK to focus on her own projects four years ago. At this time, she discovered a passion for teaching her expert knowledge to others who were eager to learn the craft. Since then, she has been coaching pre-pro students, beginner adults and professional dancers with impressive results.

    Objectives

    Isabella wanted to create an online studio so that people of all abilities could access classes wherever and whenever they like. Isabella approached 1FitLife with the task of helping her bring this vision to life, so that her audience could start enjoying these workouts and improve their skills. 

    Services

    Filmed at our in-house studio, the footage was live edited to increase efficiency. We designed a simple set so the emphasis could be placed on the artistry of Isabella’s ballet. In order to capture the details of her movement, we used 2 camera angles and high quality lighting to create the perfect ambiance. Our team also provided the music on a sub-license and mixed it to flow with the pace and movements in the workout.

    Results

    Isabella’s ambition was achieved and the ballet workouts will soon be available on her website for everyone to enjoy. 

    Gladstone – Case Study

    Client

    Gladstone is a leading supplier of Leisure Management Software in the UK and Ireland, endorsed by leading health and fitness professionals and enterprise technology partners, with over 400 customers, 30,000 users relying on our software to manage membership, bookings, check-in, security, point of sale and business intelligence every day. Millions of members also benefit from our products by joining, booking and making payments online, via smartphones or through self-service kiosks twenty-four seven.

    Objectives

    Gladstone wanted to create a “campaign-in-a-box” which is a pack of materials that we can give to its customers FOC.

    The objective was to demonstrate that as their leisure software supplier they care about the success of its customers and want to help them succeed.

    The output is a set of generic materials that the client can customise with their own logos and timetables, where Gladstone is providing 75% of the content they need to market to their members.

    Services

    1FitLife set about creating three different campaign concepts for Gladstone to choose from including campaign name, direction, slogan, #hashtags and a key messages.  Once the preferred option was chosen, 1FitLife then designed multiple marketing assets to be used across different marketing channels i.e. social media, In-club digital boards, website, advertising etc.

    Results

    The campaign has been downloaded over 100 times so far by different fitness and leisure organisations, and is being used across the UK by different leisure and gym operators to help them get back to normal. You can find the campaign here to download.

    David Lloyd Health Clubs is Europe’s leading health, sport and leisure group, with 123 clubs - 100 clubs in the UK (including 3 Harbour Clubs), a further 23 across the Republic of Ireland and mainland Europe.

    Objectives

    SPIRIT classes bring together strength, power, energy and calm for a holistic experience that will help you reset for the day ahead, or help you to wind down in the evening. Set to beautiful, motivating music, this workout is a journey of postures that are centered around building core strength, while increasing flexibility and mobility. Ending with a mindful sound meditation, SPIRIT classes give you an opportunity to slow down and focus on you and your personal wellness for a little while.

    1FitLife were asked to create the following 

    1. New high grade, photography for the product and then design marketing assets to be used across all printed and digital marketing channels.

    2. Twelve on-demand workouts of SPIRIT On-screen

    The Photoshoot
    1FitLife developed the creative direction through mood boards, setting the style and tone for the photo shoot. A number of different Yoga and pilates experienced and diverse models were sourced and the photoshoot was held in our studio in Bournemouth using the infinity cove.
    Throughout the use of lighting a dappled look was created with inspiring shadows and a sense of calm.

    On-demand workouts

    Filmed and produced by 1FitLife at one of the David Lloyd clubs. 1FitLife created a simple but effect set design, used three different camera positions that help show the different Pilates, Yoga and Strength movements in full flow. We provided incredible lighting to create the right ambience and new level sound. All music was also provided by 1FitLife on a sub license and we mixed the music to flow to the pace and movements in the workout.

    Results

    With the help from all the marketing assets the SPIRIT group exercise class has now been rolled out across the majority of the state including Europe. It has now become one of the most attended classes in the David Lloyd offering. 

    The on-demand workouts are now also live across 100 clubs in the UK and in the app. The attendance has seen a huge number of members attending these virtual classes in-club and on the app. The feedback has been an overwhelming success.

    David Lloyd – Case Study – Ign1te

    Objectives

    The David Lloyd product and marketing teams wanted 1FitLife to take a new group exercise class from concept to launch creating its positioning against other GX products, developing its brand, the look and feel and marketing assets across a number of marketing channels.

    Services

    Through a facilitating a brand workshop we defined the positioning and name of the group exercise class, named IGN1TE.
    Developed the brand story, designed all the marketing assets for different communication channels including digital, in-club, printed, social as well as creating a product-led promotional video.

    Results

    The group exercise class is now live in-club across 100 clubs in the UK and the clubs have seen a huge number of members attending. The classes have been designed to attract more men into group exercise and there are some promising signs so far this is happening.

    David Lloyd – Case Study Cyclone

    Objectives

    David Lloyd Health Clubs has developed a personalised cycling group exercise class with 7 power zones, corresponding music rides and performance intensity profiles. A real crossover of cycling, entertainment, power, speed and distance.

    Our objective at 1FitLife was to take this concept and create 24 video-on-demand premium, big-screen, workouts that inspire the group exercise community to reach a new level of fitness.

    Services

    We set about taking the concept and working through the experience, from taking the brand to the large screens, designing the set whilst still showcasing the all-important metrics of the workout. Once this was set, we then moved on to developing and mixing playlists that reflected the workout's intensity and suited the instructor's personality.
    Filmed at our studios, the high level production had three different camera positions and 100k worth of lighting to bring the whole experience to life. The rest, well... that was down to David Lloyd's incredible presenters. They were amazing.

    Results

    The virtual workouts are now live across 50 clubs in the UK and before lockdown, had seen a vast number of members attending these classes. Additionally, the workouts are currently scheduled to be added to the app for hundreds of thousands of members to enjoy.
